Growing Resilience Among Students (GRASs)

Under the IREX Global Teacher's Grant:

Growing Resilience Among Students (GRASs) is an impactful youth development project implemented by GEIST International Foundation, funded by the IREX Global Teacher’s Grant awarded to Bedoura Jahan, a member of our Executive Committee.

The project aimed to build essential life skills and social awareness among students from diverse educational backgrounds in Bangladesh. It focused on key areas such as resilience building, non-violent conflict resolution, PVE (Preventing Violent Extremism), bystander intervention, respect for diversity, social media literacy, and cyber safety.

Through a mix of interactive indoor sessions and outdoor community engagement, many students were trained and empowered to become agents of positive change. A standout achievement of the project was the development of student-led modus operandi – peer-driven initiatives designed to continue awareness-building in their schools.

GRASs also produced a scalable and adaptable training module, with potential for nationwide implementation to further youth engagement in fostering resilient, inclusive communities.
