Oceans are one of the key components of nature. These Oceans are facing a wide range of challenges. To restore the ocean and disseminate the importance of Ocean, UN Ocean decade celebration is going on globally. As a part of GEIST one of the key activities, since 2025 GEIST has taken this initiative to empower the youth towards ocean stewardship under which a series of empowering sessions through workshop, seminar, video, resource materials the youth students of Bangladesh, India, Nepal and Vietnam were empowered. The student’s knowledge before the activities and after the activities were served and the initiative reflects that the intervention created a significant impact among the initiatives.

Youth Empowering Session on Ocean literacy: GEIST launched this session in October 2025 under which 125 students from Bangladesh, India, Nepal and Vietnam was empowered through four lecture series followed by online test.

Youth Empowerment in the coastal area of Bangladesh: 100 students from the southern part of Bangladesh, close to Sundarbans were selected for a small project under which some awareness campaign, Olympiad, workshop and discussion sessions were arranged. This initiative is still now going on.

Youth team of Indian Sundarbans: A team of 50 students from the Sundarbans belt of India received formal empowering sessions followed by field campaign which enable them Ocean Stewardship towards sustainability.
